Strategic Social Media Mgmt
Do you have a managerial role in your department's social media presence? Are you looking to make sure that everything you do in social media makes sense from an organizational perspective and aligns with your department goals? It's easy for organizations to get caught up in the tactical activities of posting content and responding quickly to fans and followers on their social media sites. But without maintaining a view of the bigger picture as you create, manage and monitor your program, you run the risk of creating meaningless noise with your audiences. This 3-hour class, designed for those who oversee social media programs within Harvard University, will delve into the various decisions and considerations that need to be addressed to achieve a successful program - from setting a strategic plan to measuring results to following best practices. We will discuss how to align social media communications with your organizational goals so that everything is integrated to build community, conversation and connection on an ongoing basis. This course will follow a lecture format but interaction and participation will make for an optimum class experience. What you'll learn: - Tips for aligning your social media strategy with your departmental goals - How to communicate your social media strategy and goals to your team so everyone is enthusiastically on board and willing/able to participate - How to build a strong, unique voice/personality in your social media efforts - How to measure the results of your programs and make refinements when necessary IMPORTANT NOTE About Classes and Enrollment Please see our flyer (link below) for all classes currently open for enrollment (July - August offerings only) as well as our full list of offerings (July – December).
